October 11 Johor Bahru Redemption

Spotted: Miss B and Miss K crossing the border to go to Malaysia.

Woke up ~9:30 am today after barely sleeping the night before. Miss K and I were late by 30 minutes as we scrambled to get ready for our day out to JB today. Honestly I was not hungry, but I just needed coffee today. We got to the border at ~11:00 am with a pretty good Grab price. Miss K and I fell asleep as we neared the border, which startled me when I opened my eyes because someone tell me why there was traffic in the drop-off area. The bad feeling I got became true because Miss K and I ended up waiting in the customs area for over an hour at the Malaysia side. The two of us were so tired and hungry by the end of the 2 hours of transportation we immediately called a Grab to go to Kokoro Don & Noodle.

First impressions of the cafe was that it was a lot bigger and modern compared to the Sunday Morning Coffee Shop I went to last time with Miss E. We sat on the second floor right next to the window to get a nice street view. At this point I rate the cleanliness and aesthetic of this cafe higher compared to the last one I went to.

Miss K ordered a noodle set while I ordered a rice set. We both got some fun drinks as well to complement the meal. I thought their menu was more extensive and the drinks were better than the Sunday Morning Coffee Shop. The drink I ordered was very unique as they had a giant jello at the bottom, so as I drank I was breaking apart the jelly as well. However, I don't think their food was better as the seafood udon still lives rent free in my mind till this day. The main dish had nothing popping out to me in terms of taste, and the chicken was kind of dry. The soup was lowkey tasteless as well with only a few pieces of tofu in it. The total cost was so good though as we each paid less than $10 USD.

Originally Miss K and I wanted to go get an hour massage at Tang Retreat Massage & Spa, but they wouldn't answer their freaking phone. Then when they called us back, they said all the bookings are gone because they take walk-ins at 10:00 am and only phone reservations at 10:30 am. I questioned why their policy was different from what is written in their Whatsapp, and I was not satisfied with her answer of they have 2 different phone lines. I just coldly said thank you and was literally about to hang up on her.

Afterwards, we decided to just go shopping instead at the Eco Palladium Mall for clothes and mechanical keyboards.

I was actually going to get an aneurysm while waiting for the Grab to reach us. I was panicking that I accidentally submitted my information to an illegal website for the Malaysian visitor pass, so I frantically searched on Reddit. Thankfully I found out that the information did not go through as the website was already reported as a dangerous website by others. All hail Chrome on my new Xiaomi phone. Then I almost got into a fight with the Grab driver as he was so suss. He called us to request we don't cancel the ride, and I was already feeling confused because i just ordered the ride. Why would I cancel it?
