Crashout
Spotted: Miss B having a busy day popping in and out of interviews.
Waking up early around 9 am, Miss B took a shower immediately while preparing for her interview later in the afternoon. Miss B was very stressed out as this interview was one of the last chances she had to break into the industry, and was obtained after a lot of hard work and luck through networking: the associate director of the team ended up referring her directly to HR. Miss B the previous night was already stressed out as she found out about Big Interview, and the platform is an absolute godsend for preparing for interviews as it gives advice, allows one to record themselves and get feedback, and most importantly cover niche topics in certain industries. Miss B wishes she had utilized the platform much earlier as it would have been a great resource to hone interview skills for some of the earlier companies.
Once the interview ended, Miss B completely crashed out for the first time in the day because of all the stress and energy spent preparing for the interview, and running on high adrenaline throughout the 30 minute interview. The interview could have gone better in terms of "Tell me about one of your busiest days in school. What strategies did you use to prioritize and complete all tasks?" as I felt the interviewer had a specific answer they wanted from me, but I'm not sure if I hit the right target with my answer. In addition, this was the first interview where I encountered the classical question "Walk me through your resume" as I've always had interviews start off with "Tell me about yourself."
Crashout #2 came in the afternoon meeting as Miss B was listening to a presenter talking about research findings, at one point nearing the 45 minute mark, Miss B started fazing out and thinking about something unpleasant. Before she knew it, she rolled her eyes, and by the time she looked down, she saw the presenter smiling awkwardly, and realized what she did. Quickly she looked up again pretending to fix her eyebrows or forehead throughout the meeting. Miss B had 100% attention given to the meeting for the rest of the time, and was panicking even after the meeting about her social disaster that just occurred.
For the rest of the day, Miss B just spent it reading a novel to de-stress and yapping with friends about the old chinese drama Eternal Love and making plans for the rest of this week. Miss B is completely burnt out from applying to jobs inside and outside the industry she wants to enter, so she's trying to balance the fine line between madly applying to jobs and leaving enough time for her current roles she is in so she won't get burnt out.
Stay hydrated everyone! Heatwave incoming to New York :(
